Rupani on Russia visit

Gandhinagar: Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani was scheduled to leave for Russia late in the evening on August 10. He will be part of a delegation led by union commerce and industry minister Piyush Goyal. Chief Ministers of Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Haryana and Goa will also be part of this delegation.

The delegation will meet Russian Dy PM and Russian far eastern deferal district presidential envoy Yuri Trutnev.

Two memorandum of understandng (MoUs) in diamond industry sector will be signed during this visit. The MoU will be between Yakutia Region and Gujarat for sourcing of rough diamonds.

Russian federation’s Primorsky Krai region and Gujarat will sign this MoU under which cutting and processing unit for diamond will be set up in Primorsky.

Russians’ diamond, timber, oil & gas, agriculture, food processing tourism, healthcare and pharma sector businessmen and industrialists will also hold sectoral sessions. In this tour of Indian delegation, as many as 28 representatives of Gujarat from diamond, timber, petro, pharma etc sectors will extend participation.

CM’s PS Manojkumar Das, Industry commissioner Mamta Verma, CM’s OSD DH Shah will join this tour.

Chief Minister will return to Gujarat on August 13.

Gujarat Chief Minister on a 3-day tour of Russia from Sunday with Indian delegation led by Union Commerce & Industries Minister Piyush Goyal

Gandhinagar, Saturday: Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani in leaving here late tonight on a three-day tour of Russia from Sunday with an Indian delegation led by Union Commerce & Industries Minister Piyush Goyal.

This is in connection with Indo-Russian Business and Industries bipartite cooperation at Vladivisotok in Siberia, in pursuance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s meeting with Russian President Putin during the former’s recent visit to Russia to explore development in the Siberian region.

The 28-member delegation will also have Chief Ministers of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Goa and industrialists from diamond, timber, petroleum, pharmaceuticals and other sectors. The delegation will meet Russian Deputy Prime Minister and Russian for Far Eastern Federal District’s Presidential Envoy Yuri Trutnev on the first day

Two MoUs are scheduled to be signed between diamond industrialists of Gujarat and Russian province of Yakutia region for sourcing rough diamond, and with Primorsky Krai region for setting up diamond cutting and polishing unit, in presence of Mr. Vijay Rupani.

Mr. Rupani will be accompanied by Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Manoj Kumar Das, Industries Commissioner Mamata Verma and Chief Minister’s OSD D.H. Shah in the tour.
