PM Narendra Modi to inaugurate Garvi Gujarat Bhavan in Delhi on September 2

New Delhi: A new Gujarat Bhavan building in Delhi’s Lutyens’ zone will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 2nd September. Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel made this announcement today.

Chief Secretary Dr. J.N. Singh had paid a visit to Prime Minister this week in Delhi in reference to this function.

The new Gujarat Bhavan will be called ‘Garvi Gujarat Bhavan’. It has been built over 7,066 square meter plot on Akbar Road.

Foundation stone for this facility was laid in September 2017. The building has 19 suit rooms, 59 other rooms, conference hall, library Yoga centre, restaurant dining hall, gymnasium, multipurpose hall and other facilities. Total cost of this complex is Rs. 131 crore. A cultural event will be organized at Vigyan Bhavan to showcase the State’s cultural heritage.

Gujarat government had time and again demanded a plot in New Delhi for construction of new Gujarat Bhavan. After becoming Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi cleared this long pending demand and allocated a plot in prime area of Delhi. The Centre had allocated 7,066 square meter land for this facility, payment for which was done by the State government.

Present Gujarat Bhavan is located on Kautilya Marg over a 1418 square meter plot.

New Gujarat Bhavan has been built using Dhaulpur and Agra stones.
