No more direct IT notice by officers from 2nd October: Ravi Shankar Prasad in Gujarat

Ahmedabad: Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad addressing a press conference in Ahmedabad today said, with effect from 2nd October, no Income Tax notice will be served directly.
Addressing the media on completion of 100 days of 2nd term of Narendra Modi led government in Centre, RS Prasad said, ‘with effect from 2nd October 2019, no IT notice will be served directly. It will first go to a system for examination. Unfettered discretion of Income Tax officers will not be there anymore.’
RS Prasad further said, ‘earlier, IT officer himself would decided and send a notice, but now onward notice will go to the central pool first which shall be digital. Such digital system is being developed. The notice will undergo digital scrutiny first.’
