Met issues fresh heavy rainfall warning for parts of Gujarat for next 4 days

Gandhinagar:The met department has issued fresh heavy rain warning for parts of Gujarat mainly Southern districts for the next four days.

Today not much rain has taken place from 6 am to 8 pm as only 49 talukas in 16 districts had seen rain but Chhota Udepur has seen a maximum of 118 mm. Waghai in Dangs has seen 97 mm.
In the last 24 hours ending 6 am today a total of 69 talukas in 19 districts had seen rain with maximum 122 in Kaprada of Valsad. The rain percentage in the state has reached near 121.50% so far.

The Synoptic situation and heavy rainfall warning as per the met bulletin is as follows-

SYNOPTIC SITUATION:

Morning’s low pressure area over Southeast Rajasthan and adjoining Northwest Madhya Pradesh with the associated cyclonic circulation extending up to 5.8 km above mean sea level persists.
Morning’s a cyclonic circulation over South Gujarat & neighbourhood between 4.5 and 5.8 km above mean sea level persists.

HEAVY RAINFALL WARNING:-

DAY 1 (Today): Heavy to very heavy rains very likely at isolated places in the districts of South Gujarat region namely Chhota Udepur, Valsad, Navsari and in Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli. Heavy rains very likely at isolated places in the district of Gujarat region namely Panchmahal, Dahod, Mahisagar and Surat.

DAY 2: Heavy rains very likely at isolated places in the districts of South Gujarat region namely Surat, Navsari, Valsad and in Daman Dadra Nagar Haveli.

DAY 3: Heavy rains very likely at isolated places in the districts of South Gujarat region namely Surat, Navsari, Valsad and in Daman Dadra Nagar Haveli.

DAY 4: Heavy rains very likely at isolated places in the districts of South Gujarat region namely Dangs, Navsari, Valsad and in Daman Dadra Nagar Haveli.

DAY 5: Heavy to very heavy rains very likely at isolated places in the districts ofSouth Gujarat region namely Valsad, Navsari and in Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli. Heavy rains very likely at isolated places in the district of South Gujarat region namely Surat; in the districts of Saurashtra namely Amreli and Bhavnagar.
