Names of Congress candidates for assembly by-polls to be announced in two days: Chavda

Ahmedabad: Gujarat Congress president Amit Chavda today said that the name of the party candidates for by polls on 6 assembly seats in the state would be declared in two days.
Speaking to media peesons after attending a meeting at the party’s state headquarter here with regard to selection of the candidates in which state in-charge Rajiv Satav was also present, Chavda said that panels of 2 names for each of the six seats would be sent to the high command who in turn would announce the final list in two days.
He said that the candidates are being selected on the basis of the opinion of the local workers and popularity.
By polls on six seats Radhanpur, Bayad, Amraiwadi, Tharad, Lunawada, and Kheralu are to be held simultaneously on October 21.
Congress and BJP are yet to announce candidates’ names for this seats.
