CM Rupani dedicates Asmvati riverfront in Porbandar

Porbandar: Chief Minister Vijay Rupani today dedicated the Asmavati Riverfront- Saurashtra’s first ever riverfront in Porbandar.

Asmavati riverfront is 2 km long. It connects Porbandar and Chhaya municipalities. It has facilities such as recreation area fo children, meditation park, flower park, food zone, 2000 capacity party plot and more.

Chief Minister said that the state government was resolved to provide better infrastructural facilities for the citizens in addition to increasing their happiness index. The state government is working in a dedicated manner to ensure the provision of parks for children and number of green gardens for citizens which can serve as meditation hubs.

He also talked about water availability issue and said that desalination plants are being set up. 56 dams have been filled with Narmada waters. He also talked about the state government’s success in water harvesting and water recycling. Gujarat is on the path towards becoming a water surplus state, he added.

He said that the state government is working in a dedicated manner to fulfil and contribute in the mission of a New India as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Gujarat will now also become free from Single Use Plastic.

Talking about the heavy rain havoc, he said that the state government will undertake a survey in areas affected by heavy rains and provide the necessary assistance to farmers whose crops have been damaged due to the same.

The CM on the occasion also honoured cleanliness workers and winners of the drawing and rangoli competition. He also launched a C.D prepared by Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Limited on Gandhi.
