Message penned down by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on his visit to Sabarmati Gandhi Ashram today evening

Rough English Translation:

Sabarmati Ashram is tirth of Sankalp to Siddhi. Pujya Bapu had made sankalp here that he would not return to Ashram till country gets freedom. Ashram has witnessed realizing this sankalp.

Today I have great satisfaction that on the occasion of 150th birth anniversary of Gandhiji, one of his dreams, Swahch Bharat’s siddhi is also being witnessed by this ashram. I consider myself fortunate that I am present here on the occasion of fulfillment of sankalp of open defecation free India.

Though we couldn’t have chance to follow Bapu in freedom movement, it is our duty to walk on the path shown by him. The mantra of Jan Bhagidari that he gave has reached every corner of India. This shakti of Jan Bhagidari has given us ways to speedily achieve our goals.

With hope and faith that we take each take on the path of Bapu, we can live the dreams he saw and fulfill them, our small small shakti become strength of country’s big sankalp, country stay in our thoughts, country’s good stay in our thought and that offer us direction for anant time.
