Junagadh:A somewhat bizarre incident of dancing with alive snakes has come to fore in Sheel village under Mangrol taluka of Gujarat.
An over two minutes long video of this dangerous looking dance with three snakes has also gone viral. In the incident shot on October 6 during last Navratri, ladies can be seen doing Garba dance in the background with three other girls holding alive snakes in their hands.
DFO Junagadh Dr Sunil Berwal today said that five people including the organizer of the garba and a snake-catcher and the three girls holding the snakes (two of whom are minor) have been booked in this connection.
He said that during investigation it came to fore that only one of the snakes was poisonous cobra while the other two were non-poisonous. The Snake catcher had also removed the teeth of the cobra so that it could not bite anyone.
Dr Berwal said that the accused were produced in a court yesterday and were granted bail.
