Angry applicants of cancelled non-secretariat clerk exam protest at GSSSB office
October 14, 2019
Gandhingar: Even as uncertainty over the cancelled Non-Secretariat Clerk and Secretariat Assistant class 3 exam continues, the irate aspirants of the exam today held demonstration at the office of the Gujarat Subordinate Service Selection Board (GSSSB) here.
The exam slated to be held on October 20 was cancelled on October 11 without citing any reason for the same and the General Adminstration Department also announced to raise the minimum qualification level for the same to Graduation from class 12.
No clarity has yet come up about the exam even as words about increasing the number of vacancies from 3500 to 5000 were doing the rounds.
During the demo of hundreds of the applicants/aspirants of the exam (in all around 10.50 lakh had applied for it) shouted slogans and demanded clarity about the future course.
The board officials met around half a dozen of their representatives who looked unsatisfied even after the meet and issued a warning of even bigger demonstration if no clarity about the exam was done by the government in two days.
The protesting aspirants had also organized ‘Ramdhun’ outside the board office. Police was deployed there as a precautionary measure to tackle any untoward incident.
