Gandhinagar: In a Diwali gift to the employees of the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC), the state government today announced to increase the salaries/wages of them with immediate effect.

DyCM Nitin Patel today said that the salary of of Driver/Conductor has been increased from Rs 11 thousand to 18 thousand. That of the class-4 employees of the corporation has been raised from 9 thousand to Rs 15 thousand.

The Senior officials of class 2 would now get Rs 40 thousand while the junior ones would get Rs 36 thousand.

Patel said that the increase in salary would be effective from today itself and it would put an additional financial burden of Rs 94 crore on the state-exchequer.
