Gandhinagar:

– India’s first National Drone Racing Event was held earlier today at IIT Gandhinagar in Gujarat as part of its annual Amalthea event which also involves Roboquest and many other tech-competitions.

– Minister of State for Agriculture in Centre Parshottam Rupala today rushed to locust-hit agricultural areas of border district Kutch in Gujarat. Rupala held a meeting with district collector, DDO and agriculture department officials at Bhuj circuit house to review the situation.

– Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on the second day of his Uzbekistan visit addressed the business community in Samarkand and invited them to explore business partnerships with Gujarati companies. Gujarat is globally well positioned to support them in textiles, pharma, agro processing, automobiles and many other area, he said.

– Six assembly seats in Gujarat namely, Tharad, Radhanpur, Kheralu, Bayad, Amraiwadi and Lunawada will go for by-poll on Monday.

– Further probe in Kamlesh Tiwari murder case has revealed that one Ashfak who is an accused of Tiwari’s murder was in contact with Kamlesh Tiwari through a fake identity of Rohit Tiwari for two months. The accused already arrested namely Rashid, Faizan and Mohsin were today produced in Mirzapur court in Ahmedabad. The court granted their 72-hour remand.

– A young girl namely Minakshi who is believed to be from Rajasthan originally today jumped into river Sabarmati from a spot near Subhash bridge in Ahmedabad and committed suicide. A security guard hired by Sabarmati River Front jumped into river Sabarmati in attempt to rescue the girl. However he himself couldn’t survive. Aadhar card found in possession of victim girl showed her name as Minakshi from Balotara rural in Badmer area of Rajasthan.

– Cabinet minister in Gujarat government, Kunvarji Bavalia was today shifted to hospital due to poor health.

– Two sanitary workers, who had entered a manhole, died of asphyxiation in Ahmedabad. They had entered the manhole for measurement of drainage line.

– World Bank head David Malpas will inaugurate a conference of trainee officers of Indian Civil Service at tent city in Kevadia near Statue of Unity on October 27(Diwali). The conference will continue during 27-29 October. As many as 450 trainee civil servants from IAS, IPS, IRS and IFS disciplines will attend this conference at tent city – 2. After this conference, the trainee officials will go to service as this is the last phase of their foundation course.

-Union Home minister Amit Shah is likely to visit Kalol in North Gujarat to inaugurate a new meeting hall of APMC on October 25. He will also distribute assistance to more than four thousands handicapped persons of Gandhinagar district during his visit. The function will also be attended by union social justice and empowerment minister Thavarchand Gehlot, Gujarat Chief Minister and Dy Chief Minister among others.
