Gandhinagar to become the first Kerosene-free district of Gujarat: Amit Shah

Gandhinagar: Union Home Minister and Lok Sabha MP of Gandhinagar Amit Shah today said Gandhinagar will become Gujarat’s first kerosene-free district.

At a function held at Mahatma Mandir, Shah distributed Ujjawala scheme benefits to 1,000 rural poor women in a function held at Mahatma Mandir here. Central govt PSU ONGC has extended assistance to for LPG gas connections to poor beneficiaries in Gandhinagar district. In total 16,000 beneficiaries are to be covered in order to make the district kerosene-free.

So far, 75,492 poor families in Gandhinagar district are given benefits of Ujjawala scheme.

Speaking on the occasion, Shah also inaugurated an integrated command and control centre of Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation, a shelter home, an underpass, gardens, water supply scheme and other development works. Shah said he was here as a member of parliament of Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency.

Shah said total 32,000 beneficiaries are to be benefited through various functions that are being held during two days.

Shah also distributed Ayushyaman yojana cards to beneficiaries.

Shah said the government led by Narendra Modi provided range of benefits to poor in first term. After his reelection, he has decided to provide clean water to poor.
