Chhota Udepur – Dhar new railway line operational; first train flagged off

Vadodara: First passenger train between Chhota Udepur(Gujarat) and Alirajpur(Madhya Pradesh) on newly laid railway line was flagged off today. The section is part of Chhota Udepur – Dhar New Line project. It will give connectivity to rural areas of Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh to cities like Vadodara, Mumbai, etc.

In 2014, Prime Minister’s office had given clearance to this line and report was forwarded to Ministry of Railway. As a report of the line was sent to railway ministry for the railway line from Khandwa to Dhar via Khargone and Barwani by Government of Madhya Pradesh and was against considered for 2008-09 railway budget for survey.This railway line has been now laid on 157-km Chhota Udaipur-Dhar route at a cost Rs 1,286 crore.
