Uzbek Ambassador meets Gujarat CM, reviews follow-up progress of 11 MoUs signed between Uzbekistan – Gujarat

Gandhinagar(Press release by Gujarat Govt.): As a fruitful outcome of the recently made visit of Chief Minister Mr. Vijaybhai Rupani to Uzbekistan, Mr. Farhod Arziev, Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to India today held a deliberation meeting in Gandhinagar with Mr. Rupani to make further progress in the direction of MoUs signed with his country.
The Chief Minister had successfully led a Gujarat delegation to Uzbekistan between October 19 and 23. During this visit, as many as 11 MoUs pertaining to mutual cooperation in various fields were signed between Uzbekistan and Gujarat.
During today’s meeting, Mr. Arziev briefed Mr. Rupani that in reference to these signed MoUs, Uzbekistan’s President Mr. Shavkat Mirziyoyev had instructed his Foreign Trade Minister, Innovation Minister and Deputy Ministers and Deputy Governors of various ministries to hold a meeting with Indian Ambassador posted at Tashkent.
During this meeting, as many as three action plans were chalked out to strengthen the relationship between Uzbekistan and Gujarat and to realize the signed MoUs, he said and added that a high-power Uzbekistan delegation will visit Gujarat in November end. During the visit, the Uzbekistan’s delegation consisting of its Minister of Innovations, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Chief of Chamber of Commerce will pay visit to Gujarat’s agriculture university, GFSU, PDPU, i-Create, and centres of natural and organic farming in Kutch and other places.
In addition to these, a working group of concerned ministries of Uzbekistan will also visit Gujarat between November 12 and 17 to explore the possibilities of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Gujarat in the fields such as education, energy, science – technology and Innovation Centres and others. Beside these, a group of ‘Tashkent I.T. Park’ under the leadership of the Director of ‘Technology Park of Uzbekistan’ will visit Gujarat on November 20, Mr. Arziev added.
Besides Chief Minister, other who attended today’s meeting included the members of delegation who had visited Uzbekistan with Mr. Rupani, Mr. P. K. Parmar, Additional Chief Secretary (Agriculture), Mr. Manoj Kumar Das, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, and other senior officials of the delegation.
