Air India’s subsidiary Alliance Air starts direct Ahmedabad-Kandla flights, terms this route connecting a major port very important one

Gandhidham: Alliance Air, a wholly owned subsidiary of Air India has from today added the major port city of Gujarat, Kandla to its list of destinations.
Direct flight operations from Ahmedabad to Kandla and back began today which are direct flights connecting the two cities from Monday to Friday. This is an RCS route under the UDAN scheme.

An Air India Spokesperson said that Flight 9I 873 would from Ahmedabad at 1005hrs and arrives in Kandla at 1110hrs.Flight 9I 874 departs from Kandla at 1140hrs and arrives in Ahmedabad at 1245hrs.

Alliance Air currently connects 54 destinations within India with 117 departures per day. Kandla is the 55th addition to the list of stations to Alliance Air’s ambit.The airline has deployed 70 seater aircraft on these sectors.

This flight is very important from a business point of view as Kandla is a major hub for the import and export industry. It takes one and a half days to travel to Kandla from Nashik by road. This flight provides onwards connectivity from Kandla to Nashik and Hyderabad via Ahmedabad reducing the travel time significantly. This flight also boosts tourism to Dwarka in Gujarat as the latter is near Kandla and the tourists can now reach swiftly instead of travelling for 350 kms by road. Gandhidham where ashes of Mahatma Gandhi were submerged is just 13kms away from Kandla.One way Ahmedabad Kandla Fares starting @ INR 1300/- plus applicable government taxes,’ he said.
