Janmarg ltd announces fines upto Rs. 5,000 for entry of vehicles in BRTS corridors

Ahmedabad: Janmarg Ltd that operates BRTS buses in Ahmedabad today said that the two wheeler vehicles entering the dedicated corridors meant for these buses would be fined Rs 1500 while the Light Motor Vehicles (Cars etc) would be fined Rs 3000.
A statement by the AMC owned special purpose vehicle Janmarg Ltd, also said that other vehicles would be fined Rs 5000 for entry in to the BRTS corridors.
And if the bus is found to violate the upper speed limit of 50 kmph or doctoring the speed governor it would be fined Rs one lakh for it.
The use of mobile phone by drivers has been completely banned.
E memo issuing through the ANPR cameras installed in the BRTS corridors has also started from today. 7 RFID tag operated swing gates have been installed between Zundal to Visat and such gates were being installed at 32 more stations between Nehrungar and Ranip.
More training would be imparted to the drivers to avert accidents and also timely alert through the display system would also be given to them. Encroachments and illegal parking near the BRTS corridors would also be removed.
Notably in the wake of the recent incidents involving city buses in the state, MoS Home Pradipsinh Jadeja had visited 4 places in the BRTS corridors in the city yesterday.
