Gandhinagar:The by polls for 3 seats of district panchayats and 41 of taluka panchayat would be held on December 29.

According to the schedule announced by the State Election Commission the counting would be held on December 31.

The nomination would begin from December 9 with the issue of notification for the same and the last date for it would be December 14. Scrutiny of nomination would be done on December 16 and the names could be withdrawn till December 17. The voting will take place from 8am to 5 pm on December 29.

Among the 3 district panchayat seats 2 are of Ahmedabad and one of Porbandar.

Of the 41 taluka panchyat seats maximum 8 were from Patan district, 3 each from Anand and Kheda districts, 2 each from Mahesana, Dahod, Gir Somnath, Surat, Navsari, Dang and Sabarkantha districts and one each from Ahmedabad, Aravalli, Mahisagar, Gandhinagar, Valsad, Vadodara, Tapi, Morbi, Rajkot, Surendranagar, Amreli, Kutch and Junagadh districts.
