Surat: Two laborers died of gas suffocation in a gutter during the cleaning task in Nani Ved area of Surat city on Monday evening. Both were hired for cleaning job by a contractor without necessary safety precautions applied. The victims were identified as Kishor Moti Surkha and Vijay Bhaiya. They died in govt. run Surat Municipal Institute of Medical Education and Research(SMIMER) hospital during treatment after Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC)’s fire service staff rescued them from inside the gutter.
