Bodies of 4 youths missing with car found from a road-side water-body in Saurashtra

Junagadh: The body of four youths of Rampura village near Godhara in Panchmahal district of central Gujarat who had suddenly disappeared along with the car they were traveling in, two days ago have been fished out from a pond close to Bhatia village on Mendarana road in Vanthali area of Junagadh district in which their vehicle had accidentally fallen without knowledge to anyone.

Police today said that Maulik Indravadan Patel (22), Jigar Prakash Patel (23), Mohit Mahesh Patel (21) and Pinakin Ramesh Patel, (28) all residents of Rampura village had in an Eco car bearing registration number GJ17 BH 6029 left for Virpur and Gir Somnath. From the wee hours of December 8, they had gone trace-less.

Several teams of police were made to find them. On the basis of information of the villagers, their car was found in the pond late last night. The bodies of Jigar and Maulik were fished out first and the other two bodies were taken out later.

Police said that their car must have fallen in the pond due to overspeeding or some other reason in the wee hours of December 8. As the vehicle had initially settled in the bottom of around 20 feet deep pond, nobody could trace it. Later based on the last mobile phone locations of the deceased when police was searching for them in Mendarana area, some locals informed it about the car.
