Cold wind that is making people shiver in Gujarat also plays a role by shooing away locust army towards Pakistan

Ahmedabad/Palanpur:The ‘villainous’ cold North Easterly wind that is making mercury fall and people shiver with cold in Gujarat has also done a ‘Heroic’ act by sort of shooing away the ‘locust army’ that has put the farmers of North Gujarat especially those of Banaskantha and Patan districts in worry for past few days.

The innumerable locusts have now moved towards the little rann and were likely to move further towards Pakistan, an Agricultural officer in Palanpur today said.

‘It has happened due to the cold winds blowing at a speed of 12 to 15 kmph at the lower levels,’ he added.

Meanwhile, temperatures fell further today across Gujarat due to the winds and Naliya again turned out to be the coldest place with 9.6 °C. Deeas and V V Nagar at 10.6 °C were second coldest while Rajkot and Gandhinagar with joint minimum of 11.8 °C were at third place in this regard.
