Project Future India-2020: Nine GSFA Candidates to Undergo Selection Trial for Becoming Football Referees

Ahmedabad: All India Football Federation (AIFF) has accepted 09 nominations from Gujarat State Football Association (GSFA) for selection trial for Project Future India – 2020 (PFI-2020) batch. Nine (09) GSFA nominees include five male and four females. The Project Future India-2020 is a course for football referees which was kicked off in May 2015. It aims at preparing national and international level of referees from the talented and prospective candidates in different categories. The candidates have to undergo certain examinations, tests and trials to qualify for the same and have to be medically fit.
The GSFA’s eligible candidates have been asked to report at Gwalior’s Mahatma Gandhi International Hostel on January 8, 2020 for two days’ selection trials on 9th & 10th January 2020. GSFA’s five male candidates include Tathagat Priyadarshi, Vishal Vaja, Arunesh Jha, Zacchqeus Vyas and Abhinav Narendra Kumar. Four female candidates include Saloni Pandya, Rachna Kamani, Nirali Bhatt and Priyanka Bhil.
With this selection, one can say that football has come to an age in Gujarat because the number of nominations accepted from GSFA equals to nominations from East or North East of India which is largely considered the land of football. In all, there will be 56 candidates appearing for PFI-2020 selection trial of which nine are from Gujarat State.
