Narmada Aarti daily in Kevadiya on the lines of Ganga Aarti of Varansi: Rupani

Ahmedabad: The Gujarat government is contemplating to organize the ‘aarti’ of river Narmada fondly called as Mother Reva or Narmada in Gujarat on daily basis on the lines of Ganga Aarti of Varansi in Kevadiya where the Sardar Sarovar Dam on the river is situated.

CM Vijay Rupani today told newsmen that the state government was contemplating to organize Naramda aarti on the lines of Ganga aarti on daily basis in Kevadiya.

Notably, the normal aarti of Narmada is done in Kevadiya and other places on special occasions. PM Narrendra Modi had also done puja of the Narmada water on the occasion of the filling of the Sardar Sarovar dam to its full height last year.

Narmada which is among one of the most revered holy river of Hindu religion is termed as the life line of Gujarat where over half of its population depends on its water.
Notably, Kevadiya in Narmada district of central Gujarat is also quite near by to the Statue of Unity.
