HM Amit Shah inaugurates VISWAS and Cyber Aashvast Projects in Gandhinagar, Gujarat

Gandhinagar: Union Home minister Amit Shah today launched VISWAS and Cyber Aashvast projects of CCTV network command and control centre and cyber security.

VISWAS was initiated by then Chief Minister Narendra Modi in Gujarat in 2013-14 with a network of 279 CCTV cameras installed at public places. Today at 1256 junctions over 7,000 CCTV cameras are installed and networked covering 34 district headquarters nd 7 tourism places. The districts have Netram command centres while the centralized command and control centre has been named Trinetra.

In 7 active districts so far, more than 300 crime detection have been possible through this system. Three times more CCTV cameras are planned in coming days.

Home minister Amit Shah launched Netram control and command centres in 27 districts today namely – Ahmedabad rural, Amreli, Anand, Bhavnagar, Dang, Dwarka, Panchmahal, Jamnagar, Junagadh, Kheda, Porbandar, Sabarkantha, Valsad, Vadodara rural, Tapi, Surendranagar, Surat rural, Gir Somnath, Navsari, Patan, Morbi, Dahod, Kutch West, Chhota Udepur, Arvalli, Bharuch and Mahisagar.

While inaugurating the system, Shah in video interaction with SP in Gandhidham asked how many persons were trained for this system and how many were allocated to each shift. Shah also asked that for how long the data will be stored. SP in his replies said, total 45 persons were trained, each shift will have 15 persons and images will be stored for 30 days.

Shah also launched Viswas e-challan payment portal echallanpayment.gujarat.gov.in .

Shah launched India’s first anti cyber bulling unit. Those having any complain regarding online cheating, harassment or fraud can dial police control room number 100 for help. People in newly created seven districts will need to dial 112. The call will be transferred to cyber unit and help will be provided. The details conveyed will be kept secret. In the cases of online financial fraud, the Quick Response System will even do attempt to block the transaction.

Shah also launched cybernodal.gujarat.gov.in for inter-state cyber crime related complaints.

shah also dedicated SMS system to alert and prevent cyber crime by contacting vulnerable people and informing them about suspicious activity. 1.5 lakh people were sent SMS today through this system.
