Night vision cameras proved helpful in Katargam building collapse incident

Surat: New night vision cameras bought by Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) proved very useful in Katargam building collapse incident yesterday. Local fire brigade jawans could see two persons stuck under rubble of collapsed building through night vision camera and rescued them. The building had 35 persons inside before it collapsed. However they had left the building timely. The building was served notice by SMC, however due to dispute between the owner and tenant, it was not repaired.
