Portion of river bridge on Mahesana Palanpur by-pass highway collapses

Mahesana:A portion of the river bridge on Palanpur by-pass highway on the outskirts of Mahesana in North Gujarat has caved-in causing difficulties for the vehicles.
An official of the road and buildings department said that due to the damage to the bridge on river Khari, a diversion is being created for the time being.
The bridge was constructed around 4 to 5 years ago and its poor construction has raised eyebrows as well.
Congress MLA Bharat Thakor said that the caving in of the bridge on the all important highway an important approach road to the north Gujarat and places like Ambaji and Mount Abu was a matter of grave concern. It also has exposed corruption in road and building department.
