AMC, AUDA, GMRC building roads to World’s largest cricket stadium at Motera ahead of its opening

Ahmedabad: Ahead of opening of world’s largest cricket stadium at Motera in city, Amdavad Municipal Corporation, Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation and Amdavad Urban Development Authority have started a massive drive to build roads connecting to Stadium.

According to Vijay Nehra, Municipal Commissioner of city, 16 new roads are being built at a cost of Rs. 24 crore. The task will be completed in 15 days period. While GMRC is building the road from Visat/Janpath to Moera stadium, AMC is building a road from Motera stadium to Gandhinagar highway. AUDA and AMC are building roads from Bhat/Indra bridge/Koteshwar to stadium.

Last week, a team of municipal commissioner, city police commissioner and state government officials had visited Motera stadium fuelling speculations further that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and U.S. President Donald Trump may visit the city to open the world’s largest cricket stadium and address ‘Kem chho Trump’ event on the lines of ‘Howdy Modi’ event that took place in Houston, America last year.
