Ahmedabad: The city will witness the 5th Heritage Car Show on February 8 and 9 with participation of 80 vintage cars and 20 motorcycles. The event is being organized by Gujarat Vintage & Classic Car Club (GVCCC) and hosted by the House of Aman Aakash Ahmedabad.

Subodh Nath, Founder President, GVCCC, said, “On the morning of February 8, the cars will be taking a drive through the Walled City showcasing Bhadra Fort, Sidi Saiyyed Mosque, Hutheesing Jain Temple, Manek Burj, and Ellisbridge, among others, before culminating at the House of Aman Aakash”.

“It’s an event where heritage car owners will showcase their vintage beauties that laid the foundation of modern transportation. The Car Show is an attempt to not just showcase, but also to help preserve the vintage cars, and to create awareness among the next generation to value old traditions while being progressive,” said Chandan Nath, Convener, GVCCC.

Hemesh Patel, Founder of House of Aman Aakash, said that the show is open to all with a nominal fee to the venue, while entry for kids up to the age of 10 is free.

“We have been hosting the show since 2012 and it has gained in popularity with every year. It attracts 15-20,000 footfalls each year. The vintage cars, and the festive atmosphere with music and food, make the show an ideal event to have fun and learning for all,” he said.

On completion of the Show, 15 vintage cars along with some motorcycles will participate in the FHVI Grand Gujarat Heritage Drive 2020.

According to Dr Ravi Prakash, president of Federation of Historic Vehicles of India “The vintage vehicles will be flagged off from Ahmedabad on February 10 and will travel to Mount Abu, Little Rann of Kutch, Rann of Kutch, Mandvi, and Rajkot, before culminating in Ahmedabad on February 16. The Drive is aimed at showcasing the heritage, culture, and wildlife of Gujarat, and promoting tourism. The fleet of vintage cars and motorcycles will be a sight to behold as they move around the state,”
