Gujarat govt approves new city survey superintendent’s office at Gandhidham near Kandla
February 10, 2020
Gandhinagar: Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani today approved a new city survey superintendent’s office at Gandhidham to provide property card on the basis of documents of 30,000 lease land holders on the Deendayal (Kandla) Port Trust in the Kutch district.
The work could not be undertaken earlier because when was allotted the Gandhidham-Adipur twin township around February 1996, the land belong to the port trust for simultaneous development of the townships and the port. Since the lease conditions were directly under the Central Government, the State Government had no control on that land.
When these townships got permission for freehold land in 2014, the Central Government and Deendayal (Kandla) port trust gave permission to start city survey office in 2019 at Gandhidham for transfer of the leasehold land into freehold. This pro-people decision will facilitate early registration, subsequently transfer and development of the twin township on the line of other urban areas in the state.
