New Motera stadium to host first set of matches in the last week of March

Ahmedabad: Newly reconstructed largest Cricket stadium of the world at Motera in Gujarat will host first cricket matches during 26 – 30 March this year. Former Vice President of Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) Shri Parimal Nathwani shared this information on micro blogging site twitter quoting the announcement made by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
‘Delighted to see cricket resume at new Motera stadium! BCCI has announced schedule of Women’s Senior 1Day Challenger Trophy matches at Motera from 26 to 30 March. After years of hard work, I look forward to seeing cricket action at world’s largest #cricket stadium,’ Nathwani who has been a key person in execution of the project of new Motera stadium said in a tweet.
Motera stadium early this month hosted Namaste Trump event in presence of US President Donald Trump and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with over 1.10 lakh people.
The wowmen’s cricket match in the last week of March will probably be the first set of matches played in new Motera stadium.
