Surendranagar: Census of wild ass will be carried out in Little Rann of Kutch and portion of Great Rann of Kutch on 13-14 March this year.

The last census took place in year 2014 in which 4,451 wild ass were counted. This year, the figure is estimated to reach around 5,000. 3 Regional Officers, 18 Zonal Officers, 77 Sub Zonal Officers, scores of volunteers, sanctuary staffers – in total 1200 persons will participate in census process across 362 points.

Visitors will not allow entry during 13-14 March in sanctuary area.
