Shipping and related business badly hit by Corona Virus scare

Bhuj: Even one degree temperature higher than normal detected in sailor’s body results into denied entry, complained sailors from India who are not allowed entry in Dubai-Sharjah ports in middle east due to corona virus scare.
According to sources, dhows from Iran and India have to face strict scrutiny at Sharjah and Dubai ports. During body check up, detection of one degree higher than normal temperature attracts refusal of entry. While Dubai has Air Conditioned waiting room ahead of body check-up, Sharjah port has open to sky facility where body check-up takes place. Even a single sailor with 1 degree higher than normal body temperature becomes reason for reversal of dhow.
In another development, ships that have visited Italian, Japanese, Iranian and Chinese ports are being denied entry for one month at Kandla Port in India.
