Anand: The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) said on Sunday that there is no shortage of milk and appealed customers against resorting to panic buying of milk and milk products.
“There is no impact of Corona Virus situation on our milk procurement. There is no shortage of milk. Be it Gujarat, or Maharashtra, UP or Punjab, our milk procurement is as usual. In fact, our milk procurement was 10-12% higher last week. We assure our customers across India that adequate quantity of milk is available and will be available,” RS Sodhi, MD, GCMMF, told media persons in Anand.
Sodhi also clarified that there are no curbs on movement of milk by the state or central government since it is an essential item.
“We assure you that the production of milk, as well as milk products such as dahi, ghee, etc. is as usual. There is no cause of worry,” he said, again urging customers not to resort to panic buying.
