PI suspended in Ahmedabad for overturning vegetable carts

Gandhinagar: Director General of Gujarat Police Shivanand Jha today in his media briefing said, a Video of a cop overturning vegetable cart in Krushnanagar area of Ahmedabad viral online was very clear and he immediately asked City police Commissioner Bhatia to suspend the cop. Such behavior in uniform is prohibited and unacceptable. Police men can’t use danda all the time. Behavior and approach to poor need to have sensitivity involved. Those poor there were after all selling essential items.

DGP said strict actions will be taken against harassment to doctors and medical staff at their residential places. Strict action will also be taken against levying price above MRP.
In the wake of free one-month ration distribution by the government from tomorrow, the DGP asked people to keep social distance at fare price shops without forming any crowd. He asked beneficiaries that they must keep ration card with them when out to receive free ration offered by the State government.
DGP warned against any panic triggering message in the garb of ‘April Fool’ message tomorrow.
