Gandhinagar: Gujarat capital Gandhinagar has as on today no active Covid19 case. The city has so far achieved a remarkable success in limiting Covid19 infection spread to one family.
Gandhinagar based Umang Patel and wife Pinalben returned from Dubai foreign trip on 16 March. Umang’s blood sample was taken on 19 March and he was detected Covid19 positive.
His wife Pinalben, grand mother Ichchaben, father Jashwantbhai, Fuva Ashokbhai, Foi Chandrikaben, Ashokbhai’s mother Shardaben, Ashokbhai’s son Swapnil, Umang’s grandfather Sakalchandbhai, Umang’s brother Tirth and Umang’s mother Anjanaben – in total 11 members of a single family were gradually detected infected by Covid19.
While Sakalchandbhai died due to age factor, others turned Covid19 negative one by one after treatment and recovery.
First and final Covid19 patient Umang was discharged from hospital today.
City Mayor Rita Patel in a statement today said, Covid19 presence in Gandhinagar remained limited to just one family in Gandhinagar, thanks to the hard work of government staff including civic body, health department, police and collector office staff. With Umang leaving the hospital after full recovery, Gandhinagar has today not a single active case of Covid19.
Mayor said that those visiting Gandhinagar for job purpose from hotspot areas of Ahmedabad or any other hotspot place must inform Gandhinagar Municipality on mobile number 8141800751 through SMS, phone call or whatsapp message. They need to file self declaration form on civic body’s website or email to [email protected] .
