AMC to limit containment areas to certain parts of wards; all bridges to reopen

Ahmedabad: AMC (Amdavad Municipal Corporation) has taken a decision to announced some areas as micro containment areas. With this decision in place, the AMC has put only some area of ward under micro containment area instead of earlier practice of declaring entire ward area as containment zone. The list of micro containment areas will be declared later.

In micro containment areas only essential services such as vegetable and fruit shops, medical stores, provision stores, hospitals, nursing homes, private medical clinics will be allowed to remain open during 7 am to 7 pm period. No person from outside the containment area will be allowed for movement in containment area.

In areas outside the containment zones, relaxations will be effective as per the Centre and State government notifications and guidelines issued yesterday.

AMC has today also taken a decision to reopen all bridges that were earlier closed for traffic in connection with lockdown.
