SMC explains why it will not declare names, addresses of Covid-19 cases anymore

Surat: Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) will no more declare the names, addresses and details of Covid-19 patients.
According to SMC the decision has been taken for three reasons.
1. Unlock-1 is now in implementation.
2. As per Odisha High Court’s order dated 28 May, privacy of patients needs to be maintained.
3. There can be legal implications.
Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) and Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) have allready stopped practice of declaring names and addresses of Covid-19 patients.
