State Civil Supplies Corporation purchases wheat at MSP worth Rs82 cr, tuar dal at MSP worth Rs.67 cr

Gandhinagar: The State Civil Supplies Corporation has purchased 42,472 Metric Tonnes (MT) of wheat at Minimum Support Price (MSP) worth Rs.28-crore at its 219 purchasing centres from 10,296 farmers till today (June 17, 2020), said a release issued by the State government.
The Corporation had begun purchasing wheat on March 16 last but suspended the operation on March 23 due to countrywide lockdown due to COVID-19, but renewed it on May 1. It will continue June 30, 2020.
Similarly, the Corporation has purchased 11,530 MT of tuar dal at MSP worth Rs.67-crore at 103 purchasing power from 16,345 farmers. The operation had started on January 1 last, suspended on March 23, but renewed on May 1 and closed on May 22 last, the note further said.
