Rajya Sabha election in Gujarat: All 3 candidates of BJP win, Congress’s Shaktisinh wins, Bharatsinh loses

Gandhinagar: All three candidates of ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Abhay Bhardwaj, Ramila Bara and Narhari Amin have been victorious after counting of votes for four-seat Rajya Sabha election. Congress candidate Shaktisinh Gohil has also been victorious. Second candidate of Congress party, Bharatsinh Solanki has been unsuccessful and lost the election. This election has been fruitful for ruling BJP as it has been able to win three seats instead of two. Ahead of this election as many as 8 Congress MLAs had resigned. By-polls on these seats will help BJP to increase its tally in State assembly.

Though official figures of votes to each winning candidate are yet to be declared, it is learnt prima facie that BJP candidates Abhay Bhardwaj and Ramilaben Bara got 36 votes each while BJP candidate Narhari Amin got 35.98 votes. Congress candidate Shaktisinh Gohil could get 36 votes while losing candidate Bharatsinh Solanki got 31.98 votes.
