AMC to suspend Rs. 1200 crore project works to overcome pandemic expenses

Ahmedabad: To overcome the extra burden of expenditure on account of ongoing fight against Covid-19 pandemic, the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has decided to apply Force Majeure (uncertainty) clause in the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) projects in order to cut financial burden by approximately Rs. 1000 to Rs. 1200 crore. The AMC has accordingly decided to suspend various projects works such as the works under Smart City, Amdavad Janmarg, Sabarmati Riverfront etc. The decision has been taken to give priority to basic necessity in connection with ongoing pandemic. These details were shared by AMC today in a note.
