DGP Ashish Bhatia orders a 15-day drive by Gujarat Police to find out missing children

Gandhinagar: As per a decision taken by new DGP Ashish Bhatia, the Gujarat Police will start a special 15-day drive from August 6 to find out missing children. All police stations, Anti Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU), CCB, DCB, PCB, SOG and Missing Persons Cell of Gujarat Police will actively involve in this special drive. Police officials have been asked to visit observation homes and child care homes during this drive to find out missing and kidnapped children. As per Police, during the period of 2007-2020 as many as 46,400 children went missing in the State. Of them 43,783 children were found out eventually. The ratio of success therefore remained 94.36 percent. 2,617 children are still missing however as per a review done by DGP Bhatia on August 5.
