Fire brigade rescues 270 persons from water logged areas; 350 shifted

Surat: Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) today said its fire brigade today rescued 270 persons from water logged areas including pregnant women and patients. Low lying and Khaadi(water channel to sea) areas witnessed water logging due to heavy rains. The affected areas were Mithi Khadi, Fulwadi main road, Sugranagar, Raunagar, Kamrunagar in Limbayat zone. 350 persons were shifted to safer places and provided food packets and shelter. Local police also joined the task of shifting. 7 boats of fire brigade and one ambulance are allocated to these areas.
