AMC starts denotifying private hospitals following improved situation of Covid19
August 23, 2020
Ahmedabad: With reduced number of Covid-19 cases and deaths and ratio of positive cases down from 35 per cent earlier to just 2.5 per cent now, the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has decided to review and gradually de-notify the private hospitals that were declared as designated Covid hospitals.
The AMC today informed that out of total beds reserved in 73 private hospitals for AMC referred Covid19 patients, around 40 per cent beds only are occupied. The AMC has therefore decided to review the actual requirement of beds in detail and scale down the number so that private hospitals can use these beds for non-Covid patients.
In the first phase, the AMC has denotified SMS hospital, Dr. Jivraj Mehta hospital, Al-Ameein hospital and Lokhandwala hospital.
Shrey hospital has been considered denotified with effect from August 6 when fire incident happened in hospital’s intensive care unit(ICU) facility.
The number of reserved beds in Kothiya hospitals and GCS hospital has been significantly reduced.
5 of 15 private hospitals that were recently notified for only private quota Covid19 patients – Parth hospital, Euro care, Aarna hospital, Sumitra hospital, Pramukh hospital and Bharti Vallabh hospital have been denotified based on various reports and technical reasons.
The beds released from reservation category in these hospitals will be available for treatment of non-Covid19 patients. DeshGujarat
