Gujarat government OKays underground gutter system project for Junagadh city
August 29, 2020
Gandhinagar: The Government of Gujarat has given in-principle approval to underground gutter system project in Junagadh city at a cost of Rs. 319.48 crore under Swarnim Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shehri Vikas Yojana.
Junagadh has at present Nawabi era gutter system. Due to lack of modern underground gutter system, used water was flowing without treatment to water channels such as Dalva, Zanzarda, Timbawadi etc, causing pollution.
As per proposed plan, Junagadh city will have 110.47 km long main gutter pipeline across 8 zone with 3 STPs and 8 pumping stations. The plan has been finalized considering estimated population of Junagadh city in next 30 years. DeshGujarat
