Sardar Sarovar dam over 95 percent full; rich inflow continuing

Gandhinagar: Thanks to rich inflow of over 56,000 cusec water from neighboring Madhya Pradesh, Sardar Sarovar Narmada dam in Gujarat is now 95.65 per cent full of its total capacity. The level of water at 11.00 am today was 137.38 meter against the highest possible level of 138.68 meter. There’s all possibility that the dam will achieve its full level soon.
Last year, full level of water in this dam was achieved on 15 September. Maximum possible level of water in this dam went up from 121.92 meter earlier to 138.68 meter in year 2017 after installation and closure of 30 gates over the dam structure. Sardar Sarovar dam provides drinking water to more than 3 crore people across Gujarat.
