Gandhinagar: Japan Prime Minister Shinzo Abe today in a series of tweet expressed his opinion on Indo-Japan relations in the backdrop of his telephone talk with Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday and signing of agreement between the Armed forces of two countries. Abe also shared photographs of his times with modi in India and Japan. One of the photographs belongs to Varanasi while the other belongs Sabarmati Gandhi Ashram in Gujarat. Abe’s tweets and its translation below:

Abe tweets:

Signed the Acquisition and Cross-Servicing Agreement with India. This will promote close cooperation between the Self-Defense Forces and the Indian Armed Forces, and Japan and India will work together to actively contribute to the peace and security of the international community. It is a big foundation for that.

We had a telephone conversation with Prime Minister Modi yesterday and welcomed the signing of the agreement. With Prime Minister Modi, he visits each other’s countries every year and spends a lot of time together, sharing the vision of a free and open Indo-Pacific, and dramatically expanding the cooperative relationship between Japan and India, including security. I was able to strengthen it.

Furthermore, I believe Japan must continue to play a major role in the peace and stability of this region and the world, working hand in hand with countries that share universal values, such as the United States and Australia.
