A pair of Lesser Florican birds tagged for the first time at Velavdar National Park

Bhavnagar: The Corbett Foundation (TCF) and Gujarat Forest Department have tagged a pair of Lesser Florican (Khadmor bird) at Velavdar National Park. Khadmor is an endangered bustard species endemic to India. This research will give crucial information to plan its conservation beyond the known breeding grounds. Post tagging, the State Forest Department has started receiving signals which will provide the details of movements of the bird in order to know its origin.
