Gandhinagar: Fire broke out today afternoon at 7th floor of Shitiratna building in Panchvati area, off CG Road. Fire teams controlled and doused the fire. None is hurt in this incident. As it wa Sunday, most offices were closed. Around a dozen persons inside the building were timely evacuated.

– Against just 5 per cent utilization of oxygen in health sector earlier and 95 per cent in industrial sector, at present 70 per cent oxygen supply is in health sector, due to which there’s shortage of supply of oxygen in industrial sector. This has also resulted into costlier availability of oxygen. While earlier, per cubic meter oxygen price was Rs. 9, today it is up at Rs. 35. And even at this price, oxygen is not easily available. Due to costlier oxygen, breaking of ship at Alang ship-breaking yard has become costlier from Rs. 450 per tonne earlier to Rs. 1600 per tonne now. Activities of ship breaking are on complete halt at five plots of Alang ship-breaking yard due to lack of oxygen.
