AMC releases video of non-adherence of Mask and Social Distancing norms across city
September 27, 2020
Ahmedabad: Showing mirror to the citizens, the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has today released a video displaying how city people are flouting all Covid-19 related safety norms.
AMC said: While AMC is working tirelessly to fight Covid19, we are witnessing huge non-adherence of Mask & Social Distancing norms across the city. Stay safe & don’t forget the importance of our own safety.
In a note carried with the video AMC asked asymptomatic youths who hangout flaunting rules, to think about elders at home who could be infected by them.
The city of Amdavad has at present nearly 3700 active cases of Covid-19 infection. In the beginning of June this year, the total number of active cases was around 2700. Increase in number of active cases puts pressure on city’s public and private hospitals. Steady increase in number of active cases creates an issue of availability of Oxygen beds, ICU beds, doctors and para-medical staff, imported injections and more.
Instead of going out only for extremely necessary reasons, the youths have been seen venturing outside merely for fast-food and fun. In recent days, AMC teams have raided number of eateries for violation of pandemic protocols. However, the video shows negligence across all sections. While AMC teams conduct raids, slap offenders with penalties and collect fines, the number of AMC staffers is limited. Pandemic can not be curbed until and unless citizens understand gravity of this worst pandemic in decades and take necessary actions/precautions on their own.
