State Wild Life Board nod to Petronet gas pipeline, other development projects

Gandhinagar: A meeting of State Wildlife Board chaired by Chief Minister Vijay Rupani in virtual mode today granted approval to natural gas pipeline project of Gujarat State Petronet Ltd in eco – sensitive zone. The meeting also gave approval to laying of optical fiber cable, transmission line, electric line, gas pipeline and oil and crude pipeline in protected areas.
Some of the important suggestions made by nominated members in this meeting included inclusion of Greater Gir in management plan, recruitment of staff and healthcare for lions.
The meeting took note of large nesting of flamingos in Rann area with over one lakh new born laser and greater flamingos. The meeting also took note of increase in population of Asiatic lions by 29 per cent and increase in population of wild ass from 4403 to 6082. DeshGujarat
