Gandhinagar: – Renown international car rally participant Bharat Dave died of lack of oxygen while on way to Rajkot based hospital from his hometown Surendranagar. Bharatbhai was being takent o Rajkot but due to lack of sufficient oxygen supply he died near Kuvadva. His body was brought back to Surendranagar.

-Gujarat government has today decided to provide grain to additional 10 lakh families under National Food Security Act(NFSA). With this, all NFSA benefits will be available to total 50 lakh poor citizens. All handicapped, widows and old-age pension scheme beneficiaries will also get benefits of NFSA. Below Poverty Line (BPL families that are not covered under NFSA will also get benefits of NFSA. Rickshaw drivers, Chhakdo-mini tempo drivers and such other daily wagers will also be covered under grain distribution. Registered labourers under Bandhkam Shramik Kalyan Board will also get benefit of grain distribution.

– Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) buses will now be able to carry 75 per cent passengers instead of 60 per cent against total seats capacity.

– Gujarat State BJP parliamentary board meeting will be held on October 5 at 6.30 pm over upcoming by-elections of 8 seats of State assembly. Another meeting on the same day will be held in presence of presidents and general secretaries of various Morchas of party. BJP has also organised a press conference of Smriti Irani and CR Patil over Farm bills. Smriti Irani will also deliver address over video conference on farm bills.

– Union minister of State and Rajya Sabha member from Gujarat, Mansukh Mandaviya today interacted with media persons in Surat over farm bills passed by parliament recently.

– The Gujarat government has opened first ever Government run Pets Zone, part of Narmada Jungle Safari, near Statue of Unity on trial basis to bring humans close to animals. Macaws, Cockatoos, Guinea Pigs, Persian Cats etc can be touched and played with by visitors in this Pets Zone of Jungle Safari.
